Percy Sledge : ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’

Percy Sledge passed away yesterday, and it’s worth mentioning because his most famous song, ‘When a Man Loves a Woman’ was such a huge part of my childhood. I must have heard it being played at home by my parents a million times, and it still manages to give me goosebumps whenever it comes on.

I’m sure everyone’s going to be listening to that track today, so I figured I’d put up another one of his greats instead. Percy Sledge actually released a cover of one of my favourite songs – ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’ by Procol Harum (which has been posted on here last year in August), and it turns out that this song actually borrowed ideas from ‘When a Man Loves A Woman’!
