Feist : ‘Let It Die’

THIS WEEK’S 2 GUEST POSTS BY DAHLIA FERNANDES:

“I am a singer-songwriter based out of Toronto and I would describe my music as jazz pop. My musical influences include Patsy Cline, Amy Winehouse, Joss Stone, Adele and Feist. I am excited to be releasing my new EP this year (produced by Roy Hamilton III and Nick Name) that shares my recent stories of love, pain and the attempted journey of conquering them both. ”

DAHLIA’s 1st Pick : The first track I want to share is by Canadian songstress, Feist titled ‘Let it Die’. It is easily one of my favourite songs and one of the most emotional songs I have ever heard. The haunting lyrics paired with minimalistic percussion, delivered perfectly with Leslie Feist’s vocals is a masterpiece. The song’s strong message of letting something go is enveloped with such sweetness – just brilliant! It is the centrepiece of the 2003 album ‘Let it Die’ that with the production and musicianship of Chilly Gonzales tailored a bestseller and her breakthrough album.
